Re: uk nc30 rwb.....possibly for sale....whats it worth????
You've just re-confirmed my point. It might be 'worth' 3 times as much to a collector but i'm not willing to pay that for an NC30.3024E wrote:But its still worth twice if not 3 times as much, and why are they fetching this sort of money,,,, its called rarity...Neosophist wrote:Indeed.
Apart from the fact you can say 'I have a super mint UK bike' it's still only an NC30 at the end of the day.
I have a mk1 Astra GTE in white there are 39 left, i have an enormous amount of people asking me to sell it, i get asked weekly.....
Hence, more buyers than sellers this is also what drives prices up and up
A normal UK used and abused NC30 to me isn't of anymore value than a Jap spec one, regardless of what ebay numptys pay for them.. most are bodged / crashed / missing things.
To me the value of a UK bike would be the rariety but i'd want a mint one with everything (paperwork / bill of sale / tool-kit et al) and then it wouldn't be feasible to ride the bike for fear of damaging it.
Hence i'm left with an overly priced UK bike thats missing things / been abused or a standard JDM bike. (I'd go for the JDM bike)
Ironically, i'm one of the other 39 then. However, mine isn's standard, never been asked if it's forsale either.
C20XE engine (early coscast engine, not that it really makes any differnce - porus head?), MK2 GTE rear axle, MK2 digital dash. Cavalier PAS rack, Rover MG 17" wheels. Oh it's Carmine red btw, apart from that its' standard.

Mine'll be up for grabs in the summer, and at a very reasonable 400GB price.
(That's not £400 by the way!
)
Most on here know what other members have done to their bikes and that means a lot I think when buying one of these.
Worth over the odds because it's a 'UK' bike, I'm with CRM on this, if it's minter then maybe, otherwise it's just a 20+ year old bike. But they do look sweet, the ultimate TROUSER FIREWORK, wheelie tastic dude!

Re: uk nc30 rwb.....possibly for sale....whats it worth????
well...well...well......this thread has caused some diasagrements....
i think anything car, bike, etc if its rare its always going to be more desirable, and sought after by buyers. take that ferrari in the paper toay sold for 20 million.
to most a nice standard jap bike is more of an option then a rare uk bike, i can understand what people are saying.
but hey, bottom line is anything is only worth what anyone will pay.
