FYI, it took some modding of both the headlight housing and the reflector on the hid bulb.

that looks like a single filament HID bulb.. you sure thats hi/lo combined?

Yes. You select it in the drop down when you order.

I wouldn't bother with any at all.

Every manufacturer has invented the 'solution' from their website.

It's either two bulbs glued together or recently a metal plate moved by a solenoid.

This isn't how HID lights were designed to work, just a bodge to alter the beam pattern in an incorrect reflector housing.

It's like fitting a square peg in a round hole by cutting the corner off.. it might fit but it's not 'proper'

Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies and advice. In the end after reading a few of your articles on here ive decided to wire a relay in on the lowbeam side, buy 2x Osram Nightbreakers and 2x H4 adapter plates to fit them into my headlights. I believe in good looks on bikes but dont want to sacrifice vision of the road ahead just to get noticed lol. With having HID's on my audi TT as standard, having projector domes in the headlights and headlight washers as required by EU standards as they say, and having been blinded many times by cars fitted with HID kits which do not have the correct projectors and lenses so i guess i cant practise something a bitch alot about lol thanks again for all your help...... I have fitted some nice white led sidelight bulbs though lol.

As a point of reference, I use Bi-xenon projectors on my NC30, the Morimoto Mini D2S (avail. for less than $110 pair), fitted inside a non-standard fairing. I bought the slim type digital ballasts from China.

In terms of light output, I found one bi-xenon projector light is sufficient. Enough to see the reflection off a road sign at 1.5km... Really.

Not totally HID related. My current contractor is Philips...and I just looked on this link, just for an idea there is a 3D-visualisation of their assortment of headlight bulbs (ranging from simply Vision type upto latest/newest BlueVision Ultra). Just click on the convertible in the middle of the page.
