Is this a rip off?
Hi all, I just wanted your opinions on the price of a new brake master cylinder for the 1999 Honda CB400SF which is 230 Singapore dollars. Would you consider this a rip off? And does anyone know of online shops from Singapore that sell items for my model bike?

Re: Is this a rip off?
bloody hell.
230 Singapore dollars = 116.496818 British pounds
I wouldn't pay it.
What's wrong with yours, can't you repair or rebuild it?
They are compatible on many many bikes, you must be able to pick up a secondhand one.

Re: Is this a rip off?
Yep, real rip off. The price of shipping is infact higher than that of the master cylinder. But I've decided to go for a universal master cylinder which already comes with custom leavers.
My master was dmged badly during a crash. Thanks for the reply!

Oh hell,,, universal master cylinder?
please tell me it's not some rip-off Brembo jobby? They are plain dangerous.

Even if it's not, you could be in for trouble. It must match the diameter of yours (1/2"?) or it won't work right.
Nothing, anywhere, ever, is universal.

Re: Is this a rip off?
Last month i have found an original front master cylinder in exellent condition about 50.00 euros here in Greece. It was fit for pb1/version r and version s models.
For example i think this is ok for sf:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Brake-M ... 3a7459fdcc
and:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VFR750- ... 2ebe4762c1
I belive that you will find on ebay. There are many sellers in Εngland (for example dk spares)that sells many used items.Good luck.
