Thunderace's Collection

Post by thunderace »

About time I posted some pics

I'll start with the 400s as it's a 400 forum :peace:

FZR400 1WG 3EN1

Image
This is the eBay pic as I've not had the weather to get it out and photosnap it properly yet. It will be my race bike at some point but I'll be getting a daytime MOT on it for now.

GPZ400S A3

Image
Intended as my winter hack, cost me £212 off the Bay as a non-runner. Found the needles were gummed into the seats. Freed them up and it was running quite nicely. Then I cleaned the carbs at work and now it doesn't run, I think I may need to replace the O rings in the fuel pipes as only the L/H bowl is filling with fuel.

The others:

GPX750R F2

Image
The day I brought it home, another eBay bargain at £250. It's now in bits awaiting workshop space to re-assemble. I've had the frame powder coated and picked up a new engine to replace the tired 68000 mile lump and a few new fairing panels to replace damaged ones.

YZF R6 5EB

Image
The wife's bike of choice. Full Akrapovic system and sounds sweet as fuck! She's had it from new.

YZF600R Thundercat

Image
The wife's distance bike. Another eBay bargain at £900 with full tax and MOT.

Previous Bikes:Only the few I have pictures for on this PC

CB600S Hornet

Image
Sold to finance my two current 400s. Ended up as race bike for last year. It had had a hard life, stolen and recovered at least twice before I got it.

YZF1000R Thunderace

Image
My pride and joy since my Thundercat was stolen in 2007. Pissed all over the new Fireblade up to 130 at the TT, even with Scooby on the back. This pic was taken at Creg Ny Baa at the bottom of the mountain in 2008. Sold to a mate in York and I forgot to take my private plate off

YZF R1

Image
An original 1998 R1, number 37 into the UK. It was absolutely mint when I sold it and the new owner trashed it within a month
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
