Re: NC30 Carb Balancing trickery.
Sorry mate, I never got out to the garage all weekend. I'll try and borrow a set on NC carbs and let you all see how it's done. There's no point in my pulling off the carbs that are already fitted.

Re: NC30 Carb Balancing trickery.
Tried to balance my carbs today. Got the back 2 and the front 2 done but when I went to sync the 4 together the bike started revving up to 5k. Idle speed adjuster wouldnt effect it and i tried re-adjusting the adjusting screws with no luck. Any suggestions??
Cheers

Re: NC30 Carb Balancing trickery.
A big thank you for this thread.
I got a new set of carbs before Christmas and put them on the bike and started it for the first time in 5 years with the aid of ... "StartuBastard" ... ran it for 30-40 minutes to get her upto temp and throttle range.. all great...
the next day... nothing... not even an attempt at starting...
So yesterday decided to do a search on this site to enlighten me...
I came across this thread, and followed a few suggestions...
Drained the fuel tank (as the fuel that was in came out of a jerry can I had laying about for a couple of 3 years...) and put some fresh Go go juice in it.
Removed the spark plugs and deep cleaned them, with heat from cooker hob and an old mess tin. wire brush and regapped them.
reset the carb setting screws as they were 3-4 full turns in... so turned them in gently until they bottomed out then backed them out 1.75 turns.... thank Goodness for extra long screwdrivers :0)
Full choke, ignition, no throttle... and By Christ She Started first press of the Tit :0)
I lov ( . Y . ) me :0)
So once again...
A BIG THANK YOU.
Richie.

Re: NC30 Carb Balancing trickery.
Richie, i have this thread saved in my favourites, i used it so many times trying to get my NC30 to run correctly, it too had stood for a long time, 8-10 years and thanks to greybike its running a well as i can hope.
Glad youve got it running.
