Valve stem seals

Post by reverse cylinder jim »

Has anyone sourced stem seals from anywhere else other than from Honda?
I had a quote from my local dealer and genuine ones come in at about £8 each which i thought was bloody expensive.
Thanks

Rick O does them too James. I used a full set when i re-built my engine and they have been spot on. They were also much cheaper than any others i found.

@ jeff and jim, So roughly what has it cost you in gaskets, seals etc to rebuild your motors?

Off the top of my head it was about £100 for all the gaskets, valve stem seals and a new copper washer for sump and water pump. I used genuine Honda Head gaskets, crank a genny. I used an aftermarket one for the sump. I ordered a batch of exhaust gaskets from David silver about 20 i think to cut the cost of postage, but you will need to allow for those too. I used clear Hylomar for the cases, but blue may be easier to see on the silver of the 35 engine.
HTH.
