Standard NC35 sprocket - 40 tooth??
Sorry guys but I only have this bike for few days and trying to make it nice.
Will have many questions about the RVF so I hope you don't mind me asking.
here it goes:
Need to get a sprocket for rear - is 40 tooth the standard on NC35?
Thanks

Stock RVF is 15T in front and 38T out back. Chain brand is a matter of preference, just buy a top rate brand name chain. Stock chain is 525 pitch, 520 conversion is better. If you are changing the chain and rear sprocket anyway, you might want to find a 520 conversion as a package deal. Just a thought.

The 40 will fit anyway and will give you a bit quicker acceleration but a lower top speed. I'd only consider a 520 conversion if it were on the track but for the road the 525 is fine. As for a chain, that depends on how much you want to spend. The 3 I'd stick to though would be D.I.D., Renthal and Tsubaki.

If it's a road bike, non-standard size sprockets will throw your speedo out.

Tsubaki i would def get. could not fault them at all. if you have the money get an X ring over an O ring. Had a DID chain before. not a great experience.
. just judge your 60, 40 and 30mph limits how i do, 'bored', 'ah hell, i bet i can run faster than this' and 'oh my god, i am going so slow i may just crash into some pedestrians to relieve the boredom'

True! So you reckon only 2 teeth would do such a big difference?Stickshift wrote:If it's a road bike, non-standard size sprockets will throw your speedo out.
