NC30 Suspension linkage bearings

Hi Phil.. do what people keep doing to me.. find a linkage on ebay and message them saying you're doing a custom job and want to know if it'll fit...!

Have you still got an NC35 you could measure for me.
What effect does the NC35 linkage have fitted to a 30? Will it increase or decrease the spring rate? maybe worth a seperate thread this!

Rubber bushes [Metalastic] were used on early rear suspension legs and car front suspension, where little movement is involved, they will be hard to turn by hand, unlike a ball or needle roller bearing.
The 30 and 35 link uses M10 for all the bolts, the link is inter changeable, the 35 riding about 14mm higher to compensate for the smaller wheel.
Both rear shocks use M10 bolts top for and bottom bearings.

The change in ratio will affect the spring rate and rising rate very little I reckon.

So I have 3 choices:-
find another Ohlins lower U section which has the correct M10 hole
make some spacers up to suit M12 down to M10
Machine out the metalastic bush to take a needle roller of 12mm ID and source some seals to suit. All providing there's enough metal to safely do it.

Whilst I'm currently running an 18" rear would a NC35 linkage be a better starting point. I have an adjustable legth shock anyway

The nc30 link is correct for 18" wheel, but the Ohlins may have around 20mm of adjustment anyway.

Check the length though, its not the correct one, so may be different to standard.

The Ohlins on a friends race 35 was so long, a 30 link and shock set to lowest setting was still a pretty high ride height.

Best make 2 top hat spacers for shock and leave link standard for any future shock change.

When I fitted it I had to cut a little off the male thread so that when I screwed the U section (which straddles the rocker arm) on it didn't bottom out. I removed about 5mm, overall it's probably 7mm longer than std NC30 shock.
