NC30 Suspension linkage bearings
Hi guys,
I've stripped my suspension for servicing etc and when I've checked the bearings seizing and to check if they need regreasing I have noticed a problem with the part of the link that connects to the bottom of the shock. All other bearings are running free and are in good nick however the one where the bottom of the shock attaches is solid.
Firstly and I might sound daft here but is this a bearing? Secondly is it a simple job to replace and can it be bought individually and if so what bits do I need and where can I get them? I assume it can be removed like any other bearing too?
Lots of questions guys I know but my new shock will be here at the weekend and I would like to get it fitted as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: NC30 Suspension linkage bearings
On NC30 Linkages that is a fixed linkage, think is rubber mounted but is fixed, on RVF linkages it is a bearing linkage.
Dont try n get it out you will fook it. Another reason to change to RVF linkages.

Cheers for that,
It does look different to the linkages with bearings so that makes sense. Glad I didn't try and get it out! Just need to get the new shock fitted then and torque it up right.
How come they changed to a bearing on the RVF from a fixed?

Why they changed?? New Linkages are better though, but raced with both and not massive difference in feel in all honesty.

Nice one.
I'm looking forward to a ride out on the new sussies now and a trackday soon to test it properly.
Thanks for your help.

Re: NC30 Suspension linkage bearings
while we're on the subject I have an Ohlins fitted to my NC30. Previously it was fitted to an NC35. The lower mounting of the Ohlins has a M12 hole but the one in the NC30 linkage (the solid rubber bush as mentioned above) is M10. My question is really is this part on the NC35 M12 or is for some reason the Ohlins off the NC35 I have different? And to solve it I could either machine out the solid rubber bush and replace with bearings and seals or make some spacers to sleeve down the M12 holes in the bottom of the Ohlins to M10. When I was going over the bike the solid rubber bush seemed odd, when the rest of the engineering on the bike is in my opinion well thought out
Any ideas guys?

Re: NC30 Suspension linkage bearings
Hi Phil, I had my linkage bored out to take the NC35 needle bearing and oil seals.
I think RO sells them already done?

Re: NC30 Suspension linkage bearings
Not sure Phil but these are the Honda part numbers I used, I took the needle bearing to my local engineering company for them to mill/grind to fit:
91071-MY1-005 - Needle Race (17×24×17)
52465-MY1-000 - Pivot Pin
91262-KV3-831 - Dust Seal (17×24×5) x2
