17 inch wheel on NC24?
Hi guys,
Well, the NC24 has its front end in bits. Fork stanchions are on order (one is seriously fubar'd) and everhting has been cleaned. Now, my dad isn't too keen on the 16 inch front wheel - he dosnt like the idea of that big, flexy sidewall. Is there a 17 inch front wheel that would go in with minimal work? Preferably one that would retain a similar look to the original 16 inch front wheel!
Thanks for any help you guys can give,
Matt

Theres like 2 / 3 threads on here in the last couple of weeks about 17" wheels on NC24, have a quick look and you'll find something. Should help you :)

I have had an NC21 and an NC24 and I never had any problems with any big flexy sidewalls. As it stands it is one of the best handling bikes I have ridden in over 30 years of riding.

+1 on that.duncan wrote:I have had an NC21 and an NC24 and I never had any problems with any big flexy sidewalls. As it stands it is one of the best handling bikes I have ridden in over 30 years of riding.
I have BT45's on there at the moment as it's still being used for street use and it handles great.
I'm only changing mine to 17's as its' gonna be a track bike and easier to get more track orientated rubber. If I kept it as a street bike i'd like the wheels as standard and spend the money on a new rear shock if it was needed.

I have seen that video before. My NC24,which unfortunately got nicked last month, was also minus fairing and had flat bars and an NC21 seat.It was a lot tidier than the one in the video and not ridden quite like that one.

I'm 99% sure thats a VFR400K in that video
For a starters it looks exactly like this (Seat / No Lights / Handle Bars) Doing that to a 24 is going to require chaning all the rear plastics then I don't think it'll fit properly.

Plus that videos shot at a training school where they use the 400k :)

Re: 17 inch wheel on NC24?
I think the bike in the video is an NC24 because it has the single-sided swing arm.The seat and tailpiece is NC21 but I had an NC21 seat and tailpiece on mine. They are interchangeable with the 24 seats. Those high-rise clip-on bars would fit a 24 using the longer cables.I used CBX550 bars which are kind of in-between the original clip-ons and the ones in your photo which worked with the original cables.I do not know but I do not think you could fit the single sided swing arm to the NC21?

Yep you can, seen on in the flesh so I know it's possible!duncan wrote:.I do not know but I do not think you could fit the single sided swing arm to the NC21?
I'll go through the parts books later, theres some weird stuff that you hardly ever see like the 400k 400z then you have the 3 revision of 24 RHII/RHIII etc etc etc.
Probably some werid training school special :)
