Problem after fitting RS250 shock
Hey guys
I've just put an RS250 shock on my NC30, I ground the dog bone down a little and reshaped the top of the shock and it fits in the bike perfectly now.
But obviously the original RS spring won't take the weight of the NC' and the back of the bike is just collapsing.
What weight and length spring do i need to replace it with?
Does anybody know where i can get one from?
Cheers

Hi,
You will need a stronger spring for sure. I fitted an 800Ib spring into my RS250 shock, it's fine now, the standard one looks tiny in comparison. I got the spring from someone on here, so I'm sure someone can help.
I thought I had a photo of mine, but can't seem to find it...
Or you could use the NC spring! (well put!) :D
I found this one, it shows the WRONG spring!
D'oh!

Re: Problem after fitting RS250 shock
6" x 2.25" Spring weighted between 800lb to 950ish lb depending on your love of pies. Demon Tweeks sell Faulkener springs for around £25. I think the standard spring is around 700lb on the import bikes. It was me selling the springs to suit I had bought a job lot of Penske springs but as they say "when there gone there gone" and the last one buggered off some time ago. Ideally you really should have the shock revalved, I have seen a weeping shock even before it was fitted and a blown standard rs250 with a weighted spring but it would be fair to say that shock had suffered a little.
Need any used Nc30 parts? Want to fit a Ducati front end to your Nc30? If so give me a shout.

Re: Problem after fitting RS250 shock
Thanks for the help guys
Had a look on the Faulkner website and i'm going to get an 825lb spring.
Spike- I haven't got any pics atm but will get some once i've fitted the new spring.
Basically i just had to make the top of the shock 1/2cm narrower to fit in the frame, and make the dog bone a little narrower, although i've heard people say that they got the bottom of the shock made wider instead of narrowing the dog bone.
