Okay you were all right from the start  . I had spoken to the sellers son earlier who said it had been working but the seller called to say it never worked. I will have to replace but it would be nice to know what its from to sell.

I will revive this thread once I've done the mechanical work as the indicators didn't work and I'm not sure where the flicker thing is but I'm sure its in the manual. The rear tail light wires also seem a mess so I'l take pictures. For now I will make use of the guides for checking out the clutch, valve clearances and carbs.

Thanks

The indicators shold be straight forward.

The indicator relay is attached to the rear subframe next to the reg/rec.

Check obvious first like fuse and bulbs.

Sounds like it's been crashed and rebuilt? (would explain clock changes perhaps)?

Yup he took a slide, has a picture of exactly where it ended up. Started working on it but didn't have the cash. The one thing I noticed was that there is a 25A fuse in a 10A slot which I will change asap, the relay makes no sound. Could very well be the switch unit on the handle bar that got a bit damaged (headlight switch works), I will be replacing it so will find out then.
