GSXR Flywheel
I've got a GSXR 1000 flywheel for a pending alternator conversion. It has F4T38771 5Y30 identification marked on the flywheel rim. Can anybody confirm from which model GSXR 1000 the flywheel has come from?

Re: GSXR Flywheel
I think ID from the flywheel markings will be difficult. This is usually not the part number.
Perhaps weighing it might be easier to find which model it came from?

It's 107mm inside diameter and weighs in at 596 grams.Cammo wrote:I think ID from the flywheel markings will be difficult. This is usually not the part number.

Re: GSXR Flywheel
I think Mike Norman recommends the K7 as being the lightest - link below shows it weighing 610g. This was a couple of years ago mind.

Re: GSXR Flywheel
Thanks for your help.
I have been told that the 5Y30 was the manufacturing date (week 30, 2005) so I thought it was a K5. I'd like to know for sure so I can get the right stator to go with it.
