nc21 running question

Post by psalliss »

just got my 200 bargain started and running perefectly but notice a slight popping noise (poss not best description) from left side towards the front of the engine. not much and the revs are idling smoothly so not missing on a cyliner i dont think. can anyone suggest what it could be. ?? cheers

also at present my bike has no carb intake funnels under the air filter. is this really needed??

No that bike didn't come with air intakes.

Popping noise could be anything... missfiring / backfiring or mechanial problems.

Does it sound exhaust related or internal related

thanks mate. is there any benefit from fitting the intakes as a mate has a spare set on some spare carbs he has.
dont think its exhaust related and cant quite place where its coming from other than the front of the engine. im wondering if it could be a bit of carb cleaner or fuel thats dripped on the front just evaporating or something. bike wasnt misfiring at all. going to take it into garage to just get checked over prior to mot and just to make sure there nothing ive missed thats worth fixing or replacing as bike will be used by girlfriend when she does her test. at least thats my justification for buying a third bike. lol

Anything like that ususaly evaporates in seconds.

No water leak?

It's really hard to guess with something so vauge i'm afraid.

they wont fit your carbs, don't bother mesing if it runs fine, no noticable benefit. all those bikes with or without made similar if not idential power.
