Dunno, but surely it'd be easier, cheaper and faster (in both respects!) to just bung a 600 in there?

Probably - try TTS, Holeshot or Straightline. I think it was a Wesco piston kit so they'll still have the patterns.

or you could build a 600 and 400 together

but it's a lot less pain to use a 600.

i know about the conversion.....but i thk it just something to look into...i was thinking if i got the big bore kit i could still use some of the tuning from bdk parts and the original electrics.....does anyone know of a digi gear indicator works on fzr400??....other reason is the bike i picked up has 50,000km on the clocks so it will need a freshen up inside.

Gear indicators run on any bike - they monitor speed and revs do a fixed sum and display the result. It gets more expensive though because they need a speedo adapter.

Is this a road, trackday, or race bike ?

Just put a 600 in it or keep it as a 400
