Fairings from China/Hong Kong

Cheers for that, I was really tempted by the Nastro Azzurro kit they sell for the NC35 but hadn't heard any comments about their quality. The ones on your bike look absolutely stunning , so assuming the Nastro kit quality is similar to your Konica then I think I may just have to pur-chase some new clothes.

Also bought a fairing kit from motoparts mart Hong Kong. For the money, $475 AUS including screen & postage, is pretty good value for money, provided you are not expecting OEM quality. Fit of some sections can be a bit rough, minor brackets might be missing or in wrong place & fasteners are not fitted to any of the sections. Mine had very minor paint & base material blemishes but I was willing to accept them. Biggest problem is they have now sent me a second blue tinted screen instead of a clear one I originally wanted, at least it has been at their cost. If I eventually get my clear screen, I will be satisfied with the purchase.

If I can find suitable replacements for the sections of the OEM fairing that were damaged by the errant car driver, I will probably revert to the OEM fairing simply because of the superior fit of the individual sections.

Can post photos once it is complete if anyone is interested.

Just pushed the button on a set of RVF fairings from gtbidshop (has got pretty good ratings on Ebay and this forum).

Wish me luck! :)

Will posts pics and feedback in due course. I'm more worried about the fit that the actual quality, but it felt like it was worth a punt.

Most of the panels on mine are non-OEM, just the lowers remain. I think they look alright, take a couple of steps back and they great, turn around and they look even better!
Fitment was ok, the tail section around the lights is a little off, the left side hole is a little too wide, not sure why they've done that?!
The mids don't fit 100% to the nose section and Mr Dremel came out to trim the tabs so they'd actually fit into the holes too.
I have an issue with the oil cooler on mine (uk spec) it's currently not on a bracket and just sits under the nose section, I didn't really want to cut the nose down and this means the cooler gets plenty of air!

An update on the Hong Kong fairing story, would suggest that unless you get a better product than mine, that you are prepared for a some extra work & even some remanufacturing when it comes time to fit the fairing. Mine had a major failing where the rear lights bracket mountings were missing from the rear centre section. You will also find that numerous lugs etc will need hand fitting.

In my case I only really needed the front sections & I eventually managed to make it all fit but not to OEM quality. From a distance it all looks great.

OK so it seems lots of people are trying these temporary replacement fairings so out of a rating of 10 how do you rate them and which is the best supplier? Also is it easy to get the colour match for the tank and how much for a tank re spray. Any advice would be good rather than £300 down the drain and does the Customs screw you to?

I got some fairings for my '89 NC30 from this auction:

They turned out pretty nice! the paintwork is good, no runs or blemishes to speak of. I had to open up some of the holes to use the OEM hardware, and I used Dzus fasteners left over from my R1 track bikes for the mid-lower mounts. I modded the upper bracket to accept RC30 mirrors, I think it turned out OK! I was able to save the OEM tail section so I'm still running that, but the Chinese ones appear to have all the mounts in the proper places.

Just have to get the R6 front end painted white (fender and wheel) and I think I'll call it done.

They blend in quite well with the OEM rear. R6 front end Mmm that sounds good was that much to do with regards fitting etc?
