OKAY! ive not got even a BIGGER problem....the screw snapped at the front part now...and it looks muuch harder to get out....any ideas on that one? the front part as i can see is just a direct connection to the valve box cover. so there is no manifold. am i pretty much fucked? :\

Pretty much, yes. Get the engine out and take it to any local engineering shop you can find. They can remove all the studs and tap out the holes. Or just remove the damaged ones but you will be gutted when you refit the engine and snap an old stud that's now been weakened. Once that is done, replace any studs for brand new OE parts. If you try to get it out on your own, there is a good chance you will make it worse, then the bill just gets worse. Unless of course you have good stud extractor tools (leave the ez-outs alone!!) or can weld a nut to the snapped studs youself.
ps. it's a bit late now but if you'd asked before attempting it, we'd have warned you to soak all the studs in plus-gas for several days before attempting to remove them. And told you the best tools to use. Studs usually snap due to a) corrosion and b) people using the wrong tools and applying force up or down, rather than around, IYSWIM.

Have you "just" snaped the 2 bolts on the picture above?
not the little stubby pipe that joins to the motor? if you have not got the right tools, then get some before you try and do this - it is a lesson that we all learn and it is a total pain in the arse.

OK relax, you need to be a bit clearer on what you've actually snapped, system to rear manifold studs or the manifold to head studs? IMHO if he's referring to the exhaust manifold studs as "screws" then there is a strong chance that trying to fix this himself would be a steep and expensive learning curve.CMSMJ1 wrote:Hold your horses mate!

you're far enough away! I'd strip it down so that you can get access then you need to find someone who can do it for you, either a bike shop or a machine shop. if it's the latter then they may well want the engine out.
If it was mine and i had been unfortunate enough to snap them off I'd use a very small drill and go in through the centre, then enlarge it and tap it out. I've never found eze out's any good in small diameters. if there's anything left at all sticking out the block I'd try and weld a nut on. this gives you something to grab hold off but also put a lot of heat into the area in the process which helps free it off. If you go the weldling route then disconnect the ignition module (CDI) etc.
I have a mate in St Andrews who could probably help if you were stuck, but he's far from you and he will charge, but he's good.
