paddock stand needed for fork oil seal change?
okay. so as the title says...do i really need a rear paddock stand to change the fork seals? i ordered the paddock stand but it has not arrived yet. but my oil seals have arrived...and i dont wanna wait any longer as my bike is stripped outside in a tent as i have no garage and its getting really windy here... you think the side stand would be a ble to keep the bike in balace when the front wheel is off? any ideas?
Cheers.

Hah no way, it'll fall over when you take the front wheel off.xivlia wrote:okay. so as the title says...do i really need a rear paddock stand to change the fork seals? i ordered the paddock stand but it has not arrived yet. but my oil seals have arrived...and i dont wanna wait any longer as my bike is stripped outside in a tent as i have no garage and its getting really windy here... you think the side stand would be a ble to keep the bike in balace when the front wheel is off? any ideas?

You also need to remove the forks from the bike too and split them apart to change the seals.
If you don't have a paddock stand you can always jack the bike up and support the sump with some bricks to stop it falling over

put it ont he stand and than jack it up under the pipes/sump.
Just make sure it cannot tip sideways. You could also use axle stands on the pegs...
