Painting Air Ducts - NC35

Post by billnit »

Anyone done this with success?

Mine are looking a bit tired with some scratches. Nothing too major, so was thinking of a rub down and spraying matt/satin black, or maybe gloss if i'm feeling keen?

Good idea??!!!?

These are made of some kind of polypropolene and in my experience nothing will stick to them, best way to tidy them up is to rub them gently with some 1200 wet and dry paper, use it wet with plenty of washing up liquid in the water as the paper will clog easily, after they are looking reasonable polish them using using plenty of black shoe polish and a brush, sounds strange and takes a while but this is the best result I think you will achieve. Good luck.
(or you could wait a little while and get some carbon ones from me ;) )
