CBR400RRR rear hugger

Post by SPal »

Hi All,

Feel embaressed ebven asking this question, but i supoe i'd be more embaressed if i broke the hugger.

How does it come off ?

Undone all the side fixings, looks like a lug fits into the swing arm and didn;t want to get too heavy handed and break it.

Are there any more fixings or some special way of getting it off?

Ta

I think you have to remove or lift the the seat frame and tilt it forward, only done it once and thats how I removed it

Hi Durka Durka

Thanks,

Seriously considering the TYGA conversion but gonna run for a few months to check everything is mechanically ok.

Bikes been off road for 10 years and although only has 10K on clocks feel it would be bit dumb to spend that kinda cash if it proves to be a non-runner.

Other way is take the bolt out of the rear shock/swingarm and this will allow enough room as the swingarm drops down just enough for you to take the hugger off.

But to be honest i think the way Durka does it sounds like less hassle

Hi

cheers for replies guys, tbh getting the hugger off wasn't my problem, i was just worried that even after taking the side fixings off i couldn't get it seperated from the bike, didn't want to force it and break something

from yuor replies i think i'll just have to pull it a bit harder. lol

i just unbolted it on each side and pulled it off :-? there are a couple of tabs into the swinger but they just pulled out if you tilted the hugger
