400sp worth it or not?
Hi all, ive been looking at a 1990, H plate gsxr400sp, its got about 25000km on the clock and is in good order for its age apart from mismatched perished tyres (possibly stood for a while). it needs a damn good clean and tacky stickers removed, but looks ok. The guy reckons its got 12 months mot although with those tyres i doubt it. its up for £1400 but i reckon having done a bit of detective work thats well over priced. Any advice on its value is much appreciated. One other thing, on the top of the forks youve got the rebound adjusters, then theres an extended tube section on one side not the other, then the preload rings, the rings show the same on both sides but theres this extended piece of alloy which doesnt look right to me only on one side (possibly been put back wrong). Ive currently got an srad 600 and thought about this as a winter spruce up project. Any help is much appreciated cheers.

Id say that was massively overpriced, GSXR's are not really my thing but i brought one a couple of years ago which by the sounds of it was in a similar state to this one, stood for a while, shocking tyres, brakes and suspension but the rest was good. I paid £300 for it on a H plate

Thanks for that munky, i think i might steer clear i dont think for a minute i could knock him down that much, he probably thinks hes got something desirable like an rgv or something. a new set of tyres and other sundries might well add another £500 to the deal aswell.

I picked my first gk76a up for £700, was tidy and had been sat for a while. After a good clean and new fluids and battery it was a mint bike.

Re: 400sp worth it or not?
i bought my first one in 05 for 800 quid and it was tidy and went well, still suffered from the usual starting issues though.
went well and was a nice bike, suspension was a bit crude and see saw like, brakes were wooden as expected from a RGV, but i liked it.
sold it for another NC30 - no regrets.
