Checked them and 3 of them were half a turn too tight the 4th is seized tight and the head is rounded so someone had a go at it before. Any ideas not keen on getting the blow torch out as despite having drained them the carbs are bound to go up in smoke.
lol, least you found what it was. as for the tight screw, im in same problem, you talkingh about the pilot screw or drain one now though? lol
i have one that is closed and seized and the head it completely shered off, i recon a very small reverse thread bit will extract her. try that, thats my plan anyways. :)

Re: It runs......well kinnda!
Well had another go at the bike, got a second set of carbs and stripped them down cleaned them up, swapped a couple of pieces around. So had 118 and 115 jets, adjuster screw set at 2.25, extra 0.5mm washer although couldnt drill slide holes as only had a 2 & 3mm drills so will pick a 2.5mm up.
Balanced the carbs using the drill method and checked the choke was set the same on all carbs.
Fitted them still with the 33bhp restrictors in place. Fired it up and was exactly the same, dies when touch the throttle or turn off the choke. It did smell rich so out of intrest took the restrictors out and tried again with the same settings, this time it was even worse and after a bit of playing about wouldnt even fire.
What settings are people that are restricted using? Also any ideas without restrictors want to get it running either way.
Only other changes are a new air filter, new sparks and JSA full system.
Ive done a quick video of it running with restrictors, It dies at the end as I touch the throttle. Its instant as if the key had been turned off! Sounded very rough hope its nothing serious and down to the carbs needing balancing to smooth it out. Not sure why it dies though
Did manage to wrap bits of the exhaust to prevent it burning the fairings again and set up the alarm system.

Gonna borrow a vacuum gauge to balance the carbs, start there. Want to at least be able to ride it to the dyno but will definatly get in on one to check the fueling and get a restriction printout. Plus cant really dyno it at the moment as cant take it past idle!

Re: It runs......well kinnda!
Well not sure what the problem was but its fixed!! :)
Changed the rubbers for RVF ones (Cheers Rick) changed the reg/rect and drilled the sliders out to 2.5mm so now it fires up and once warm can run without the choke and revs.
It seemed quite smokey, now Ive had the exhaust off and sealed with RTV at all the points where it slips together. Along with new packing so could be down to this.
Its getting there, taking far too long but its getting there :)

No speedo will give you the 5000rpm rev limit misfire but should not affect the running at lower rpm. Does it run smooth below 5000rpm? Why did you change the rect/reg?

Changed the regulator as the connector block was burnt out.
