Exhaust can

Post by Arin »

Hi all

Wondering if anyone may have some bright ideas on how to solve my exhaust can touching the swingarm/chassis/body?

Thanks

I bought the wrong exhaust can ( but it was cheap ) and had to have a bracket made to get it to fit on the end of the exhaust ( had to cut the flange off ) but it was still rubbing against the swing arm.

The end of my can flared out a bit at the base so I cut this bit level with my angle grinder.

I also undid the bottom bolt holding the exhaust and pulled the exhaust away from the arm, didnt want the pull too much then put a largish washer behind the bracket to hold it in place.

Now its about 5mm away from the arm, I thought it might catch when leaning over on bends or on full 1-2nd gear acceleration if the swing arm flexed a bit - but no probs at all.
