Ignitech for NC30

Post by reverse cylinder jim » Wed Aug 24, 2011 10:04 pm

Im going to buy one very soon but been looking at prices and Rick Olivers are £130 while Greame France's are £175? As far as i can see they both can come with the HRC map so wondering what else comes with it for the extra money. Anyone bought one from either seller?
Thanks

Has anyone fitted one, what are the gains and what is the best map?

Thanks,

I've had one for ages and am not sure they are doing much of anything to be fair. They do make the throttle response better and ruin the ability to do backfires...

I tried to set mine uip on the race bike and it was great - felt better, but didn't feel faster.

Only time I dyno'd it I was 2bhp down on the std CDI...

If you have high compression and run high octane fuel then I expect you can make a map to suit. There is a decent lenght thread on them somewhere - Alex Whitham did one about his and Zimm and I did one when we first arranged to buy some from Ignitech a few years back.

Working now..so not on here (ahem) will try find them

They also have a few nice touches for race bikes like take off for fuel pump, i think they got shift light connection, rev based switching for exup (fzr) that may be of use, TPS etc.

Thankyou for the info guys, seems that the only difference for the money is the maps they come with as Mr France unit has their own HRC map fitted compared to Ricks having the normal HRC map.

I placed a order this week from rick and he will load the map of your choice , got it for my new nc35 project bike , i will be testing the ignitech with the hrc map, uk map and the standard nc35 cdi back to back , i cant test it against a hrc cdi as i only have a stock one .

I have one from Rick O.

Its a great bit of kit, I found it to be better than the standard CDI. However I did carry out a load of modifications to the bike at the same time!

I'm sure I remember in a thread that there was a HRC-2 map which gave the best improvement for HP. It was possibly the same thread that CMSMJ1 is on about!

But at the end of the day, its what feels best when you ride the bike.
