Bit smokey... Too rich?
My nc30 blows some smoke when I open the throttle.. This is only on the stand. I only passed my test on Friday an haven't had a chance to ride it yet till I MOT it in a few days.
It isnt the White head gasket related smoke, it ain't condensation as the bike was nice and warm and it doesn't appear blue. I'm wondering if I've over jetted it.. Or whether it's just because it's been sat for months with just the odd start and rev. Or both! Exhaust does smell a little rich.
Will idle an put none out but when I open the throttle it puts some out... Revs clean though.
Bike has a ignitech on +2 map loaded by Rick Oliver. Standard airbox and filter, needles lifted to 1mm, 2.25 turns on pilot, 120 front 122 rear mains, TSR half system and ART straight through can.
Am I miles out?
Any ideas?
Does stink the house out very quickly if I'm not fast to open the garage door! Maybe it just needs a good ride?

Re: Bit smokey... Too rich?
Could be too rich, mine had exactly the same setup except for the Ignitech and mine was running 115 front 118 rear jets and the air/fuel mixture was perfect when on the dyno.

I'm running 120s all round with a full Tyga system and standard air box and filter.

Re: Bit smokey... Too rich?
I doubt it will be the jets contributing, main jets will only effect revs from about 8-9000 rpm upwards.
It takes a while to get rid of all the condensation in my bike if I don't ride it regularly.

Re: Bit smokey... Too rich?
ragging it in neutral that is enough to make it smoke is not cool.. The poor bike..
Get it on a dyno and find out for sure what the fuelling is and stop pissig your neighbous off by revving the tits off it on the stands. Mechnical sympathy goes a long way

Who said I'd been revving the tits off it?
I just run it every now and then and let it get warm because I'm not getting to use it. Where you've got 'ragging it in neutral' from is anyone's guess.

Yeah to about 6k at the most. I'm not thick. I dont stand there bouncing it off the limiter under no load scratching my head as to why it's smoking.
