Post by nimrod »

I have a 1990 NC30 used mostly for track days but is on the road with a daytime MOT - Just about to change the front brake pads and was wandering has anyone got a suggestion as to the best pads to fit on the front.
All comments much appreciated.

The best pads I've ever used on the road are Nissin OEM pads.

The best I've used on track are Ferodo spanky pads.

I;ve fitted some OEM pads to my biketday (thanks CRM) Nissing pads are the shizz

Cheers!

Will look up some 'spanky' Ferodo pads if that's the case and see how I get on!

I have these in my NC30.. there about 85gbp for 4 but there good pads.

Other than that the Nissin OEM pads (from Honda) are awesome

The problem with these pads if you use them on the road is that they feel the reverse of fading.

You take some braking pressure and it takes some time for the pads to warm up and then the braking force ramps up. If you are not going to use the pads hard - really hard, I'd settle on some non spanky ones. Of course, if you are the man on the brakes then rock on.

Just be careful of them when back on the road as unless they are hot they are shit.

Avoid Goldfren sintered, absolutely shocking performance, your rotors run much hotter and rumoured to be even worse in the wet

Yep... in the UK i'd use them too.

The Daytona golds I got were the only pads without a couple of days wait but they were also the most expensive the shop had :/

Still.. awesome feel, probably even better than the nissin pads i'd say.
