Re: VFR400R NC30 engine build
still in bits, sllloooooowlly turning to gather up all the new parts needed to get it running 100% and i'm getting told easier ( read that aarse about face ) ways of building it from my father-in-law who has bee a mechanic for 40 odd years but has never worked on a V4.
he lives in spain now but has been back a few times to see family but i'm so tempted to give it to him to do as he'll make short work on it and i can watch and learn ( plus take plenty of pictures ) . he's back next tuesday so i'll maybe "learn" more then.

Re: VFR400R NC30 engine build
here's a long overdue update.
i ran outta time, the motor got put away in the roofspace and i started to finish off other projects i had knocking around, ie a VFR400R i was building, a CBR400RR i was getting ready for paint ( i have a guy looking for the teal colour so it can go ahead but it's now dragging on to long) plus my 'health' problems......
but i want to get this done, and done right ,so it'll be giving to a well known forum member to rebuild into something specail. the more i read and learned the more i knew i'd be putting together a running motor but i wouldn't be doing it justice, so this forum member is going to put it together to a fairly high spec ( but not a race spec, call it a blueprinted spec).
sorry i never saw this through but i wasn't going to do it unless it was done right.

Ahhh..that one
Good news brother. Hope that it is the shiznit.
I still have dreams of sorting a faster NC out - rode mine in anger on Monday night and took me an hour to make friends again and was rueing the lack of power. My no9 deserves 75 reliable bhp and one of these days...I'll sneak a block out the garage, some heads from Geoff and sell my ringpiece for some of Mr Nield's fettling...!
Just don't leave these updates too long eh chief
