Hey all,

After a fair few months of collecting parts, I finally got round to fitting all together! I have a race in 6 days, so I'm hoping the base setup I plumped for will be good enough for that! (thanks to Cammo for the various info scattered about this site on that!)

Anyway, few things I'm curious about. What do people do with the 2 breathers that go from the airbox to the T pieces between the carbs? Just lose them completely?

Also (and this is a bit immaterial now)... When I removed the stock plate and velocity
stacks, 2 of the stacks had been pinched from a previous assembly and were completely blocking 2 of the smaller holes. What kind of running issues would this have shown?

Have yet to start the bike up to see how it runs, so fingers crossed!

I just used to run them open, but I guess you could use the standard hoses and cut off the top and bottom sub filter housing from the airbox if you want the slide air to be filtered.

What size restriction did you end up using in the air jets? Or do you have the hrc velocity stacks?

Not fussed about filtered air. All my washers have perished anyway so it would be a little pointless!

Haha, yeah, I wish! Been looking for ages for those stacks, but have found nothing. I'm sure if I could get a decent mold and have some batches made up they would sell by the bucket load!

As for the bolts, I haven't fitted them yet as getting the carbs back on took way longer than I had anticipated. I bought some 10mm cap heads and have enough to try a few variations - probably 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm seems to be in the ballpark from reading old threads on here.

Sounds good, start with the smallest restriction first and adjust the main jets to suit. You might not need the other sizes.

Do you know somewhere that could take a mould and make them as I have a set?

Ive done the same and mine seems to run the best with the 2mm hole in the bolt.

Cheers Jim, that was gonna be my starting point. Out of interest, what jets are you running with that?

As for making the stacks, when I was fishing on kiwibiker for some, another member gave me a contact who could make some if they had a mold. I never followed it up because I didn't know anyone here who had some and I wouldn't want to borrow someones I didn't know because of the rarity of the part!

I did contact the NC30 owners club in the UK and they said that they were possibly looking at making some more later in the year. If a few more people show some interest, then maybe they will start doing them again?

As long as they are not stupid money ie £100's then I'd take a set if they were really close to the real thing.

Making a mould is the difficult part!

A member drew up some CAD drawings of an hrc stack a couple of years ago, they should still be floating around on the forum somewhere.
