TPS sensor fitting kit, who wants one

Post by Drunkn Munky » Fri Aug 12, 2011 10:33 pm

Forum member lange kindly sent me the drawings to get the parts machined to allow fitment of the starlane TPS sensor so while im getting it done would anyone else like one? Its to fit RVF carbs but may fit VFR carbs aswell, i'll check tomorrow.

I dont know the cost yet but its only small so wont break the bank

ME ME ME!!!

I tried ordering one from Starlane a while ago, but they didn't respond to any of my orders or emails. If you can supply the sensor and bracket + ship to NZ, then I'll take one to fit NC30 carbs

Cheers
Luke

As far as I know you need an ignitec cdi so when you twist the throttle to , say, over take the throttle position sensor reads the throttle opening quickly and advances the spark to help
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Yep you need an ignitech or other CDI capable of mapping using TPS. Bassically it will adjust the advance bassed on throttle position aswell as RPM hopefully giving a smoother glitch free power curve. The midrange is where your see the most gains with very little if any at the top.

Example, @ 5000 rpm at half throttle the advance will be 10 but at full throttle the advance will be 15.

Those values were picked out of the air and just used to explain the use of the TPS
