nc35 carbs rebuild

recently rebuilt carbs on the nc35 it is running a viper can with no baffle jetted to 110 in front and 112 in rear. extra shims to needles and holes drilled to 2.5mm still seems to have a flat spot and doesnt feel like she is pulling as she should. any ideas?

Yeah - don't drill the slides on the 35 carbs!!

If you read Cammos guide - it says so in there, I believe its only good for the NC30 carbs. Same goes for the shims!

am i fucked or what are there any remidies the bike is running. what will the bike suffer from? only some power loss?

i also drilled the sliders on my NC35 about 6 or 7 years ago before I knew it was only good on the NC30... I never really noticed any difference after I drilled it tho... The flat spot was there before and after I drilled it and I didn't notice any difference in the throttle response...

Also you dont need to jet different for the rear carbs on the 35

Mate, if you've still got the problem, I would double check your diapraghms are fitted properly!

110/112 could be too rich.

Check your plugs mate.

Once again, I cannot overestimate the importance of your carb diaphragms...
Mine were'nt fitted right, and it was lacking power bad, and wouldnt rev over 12.

I'd pulled the carbs out, new main and pilot jets, new diaphragm springs, short velocity stacks all round, new plugs.

Rode it, and it was under powered big time.
Stuffed around thinking it was the spark breaking down under load... checked my plugs, nice tan colour.
Measured the resistance in my coils and leads, all within spec.
Adjusted my air fuel, no change...
Thought I would pull the velocity stacks and diaphragm springs out and revert to stock, while I was pulling them out, realised when I pushed the needle out of the jet it would spring straight back without any resistance from the vaccuum diaphragm.
Refitted them properly, and now shes a beaut!

Do you mind if i ask where abouts in the world your from pal? i only ask because from your recent posts you seem to side on the rich side of jetting all the time, i know from experience that here in the UK 112DJ mains on a stock intake system with a endcan is way way to rich. Ive also never come across diaphragms being put in wrong, i mean its fairly easy to get them in the right place only a blind man could go wrong.

What system do you run and is your intake system stock?? Please dont take offence by any of this im just curious as to how your bike runs fine on such a rich setting.
