Removing radiator fan from lower rad of NC35

Removing radiator fan from lower rad of NC35

I've got the rads off but now can't get the two fan wires (not earth or temp - the other two) out from the lower rad. What am I doing wrong?! :)

Is it a case of pulling them out or is there some kind of catch that I'm missing. Don't want to break something in the process!
