hand me 3 grand then will go and buy cbr600rr not every one is made of money the vfr only cost 700 so either way not going lose money on it as for asking dickhead money when come to sell i dont think so because it will still be a 1995 reg ? as for the upgrade body kits aka k-conversion's + tyga kits price's you can see why they ask stupid money on bikes with these kits because they cost stupid money for the kit see akit on ebay just over a grand think that was the shite one as you put it k-conversion.Dont think will get bored off the vfr as have only riden 125's from 17 and now 30 and just passed test never got bored of my 125's so think will stick to the 400 aslong as it's reliable/handles well and not to high  it will stay

I have both an NC30 and 675 - You will need to extensively modify the fairing to get it to fit properly, not to mention the brackets you'd need to fabricate.

Don't waste your time

Whilst that looks OK in a certain bastard love-child kind of way, you do realise that what you have done is scaled the fairings so that they fit for your purpose? They are not necessarily that size, and won't necessarily fit that well together or to the frame, tank, etc. Just for starters, here is a pic of the original 675:
Image

The 675 has in reality only 50mm more wheelbase, so you may have got the "X" quite close, considering the 18" wheel of the VFR. But they look a little squashed in "Y"? It might end up OK but it might end up awful. If you like that tail unit then go ahead, it's been done and looks good but will work better with a 17" rear wheel and corresponding jack-up, as this opens up the rear more like a modern sportsbike.

These things often begin with the best intentions and end up with disproportionate messes at the end. Check this out:

You can see the idea - "I have a CBR400, but want a slimmer more modern tail. R1 tails look great. Let's fit one!" ... completely forgetting the size differential, I think we can agree that that bike looks awful. So yeh, be careful and don't dive in too quickly.

ps. could you do us all a favour and use a bit more grammar, please? Your posts are hard work to read.

Jesus fuck that looks awful.

If the original poster is infact 30 then the insurance difference between a VFR400 and an VFR800 is going to be negligable.

You can pick up a VFR750 or 800 cheap and not have to spend hundreds of pounds wrecking it.

After you cut something up and buy / fabricate brackets you have to paint and fibreglass and repair something.

If you add up the cost of everything spent on doing this I guess it will be a lot more than you thought (having done custom work before.)

Final point, bolting 1500 worth of kit onto a bike does not increase the value of the bike by 1500.

Good-looking bikes those Sachs. But I would still advise caution - once you start modifying things from standard it gets complicated. I modified my bike, and the amount of things I struggled with. For example changing the forks, even for forks which fits the bike, leaves you with different handlebars. A minor problem? You'd think so, but seeing as nothing was standard any more, everything is designing from scratch:
  • Bent secondhand bars, doesn't steer straight... Arse, try again but with new parts...
  • too high, cables won't reach comfortably. Arse, try again with clip-ons...
  • too low, I can't reach comfortably... Arse, try again with aftermarket raised clip-ons...
  • goldilocks, finally got it on the 4th attempt.
Or rear swingarm, again one which fits the frame but I really can't work out how to make a tidy job of the rear brake hoses at all. You just don't get the same type of problems when you are putting a standard bike back to good, so your experience whilst admirable, is not necessarily 100% relevant.

Still, good job on the Sachs, I do like them a lot. If you're not book-smart don't worry about your posts being 100%, but thanks for having a go with punctuation, it really makes it a lot easier to read and a lot of us are subconsciously a bit snobbish, so it will (sorry to say) have an effect on the quality of answers you get.

Check out these guys, they've created a custom fairing based on the YZF-R1 for an NC30, I believe they've done something for the CBR400.
