Has anyone fitted NC35 lights to a NC30 nose cone?

I'm thinking of adding some tabs to the nose cone on the NC30 to take the NC35 lights. Open out the cut-outs so that they are a nice fit. Has anyone every tried this? What are my chances of success? should i not bother and waste my time doing something else?

the 2 nose cones have different contours, so doubt it would be "easy"

may i ask why you would want to make a classic 80's 30 look like a 90's 35 front end ? nothing wrong with the 35, but if its the styling and if you think the 30 looks dated why not buy a 35 ?

I know what your saying and i agree. The look i am after is similar to the silhoette suzuka nose cone. Almost a standard nose with a single teardrop light or at least lense. I be-grudge forking out £275 + paint for the pukka one, so i was looking at alternatives. I thought that NC35 lights are very similar to the profile of the suzuka or silhoette lights/lenses and a if a set was easy to mount on the NC30 then it might look good.

I don't really think that trying to stuff NC35 headlights into an NC30 nosecone is a very good idea. Even if you do manage to pull it off without it looking like Bodge It & Scarper Ltd. did the job for you, I doubt you'll actually have the look that you want.

What I do think is that any little bits of cash you do have lying around should be thrown into performance upgrades, and if you want that silhouette or suzuka look then you should be prepared to splash out for the full package, instead of trying to cut corners. You'd be much happier with it in the end, and it'd save you faffing about.

That's just my opinion though, and it doesn't exactly have any weight! Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

P.S. the front tyre on that bike in the photo is a bit square :D

But that's an NC35.

If it was me, cash poor and time rich doing this, then I'd do something similar to this:

1) Remove one headlight, block up the hole.
2) Take some clear perspex, warm it and form it over the nose cone
3) Take some black[1] perspex, warm it and form it over the nose cone
4) Cut the clear perspex to the shape you want.
5) Cut the black perspex so it's the same shape but ~2cm larger, cut out the inside so that the hole is ~5mm smaller than the clear perspex.
6) Place the clear perspex where you want it over the headlight, mark round it and cut out that section.
7) Fit and bond the black[1] perspex to the inside of the fairing.
8) Fit and bond the clear perspex into the cutout.
9) fill the gap between the fairing and headlight, black polypropylene cut into a ring, stuck together and trimmed so that's its flush to the fairing and fits nicely round the original.

Maybe also replace the NC30 headlight with a different one.

A lot of work though.

Fastdruids idea is something that was my first thought. I already ordered some perspex to experiment with this but i thought the RVF light would be a simpler solution. I will probably experiment anyway with the perspex to see what shapes i can get and how easy it is too form.

Its a hard compromise between keeping a good original NC30 look and something endurance. Maybe it is only something that a proper suzuka fairing can achieve. That is a shame as i think there must be something else out there.

The thing with the RVF headlights is that unlike the NC30 it's in one piece, you'd have to hack it in half before you even start.

or you could try using the headlight of a zx7r, same style as the rvf but bigger so might fit the hole left from the light of the nc30.
