iv also just got off the phone to my best 2 local garages, the first quoted me 90 quid to check the valves....the 2nd said they wont do it. cos they found it hard to justify the cost of just checking such a thing, plus both said that if i already have my carbs off, to check myself lol so looks like im going in! lol  gunna grab some carb cleaner and feeler gauges today and do it! im such a whimp

ill take a look at that carb guide code thingy mate too. so far peeps have said my carbs look like uk ones, my slides apeare to be metal and as youv already seen, they have more holes than others already in them. so ill check those now.

from just looking over the old girl too id say yours was deffo moded for larger jetting than mine is....unless im missing somin anyways. how can i check to see if my CDI has been swopped around or isnt original? what sort of marking should i be looking for mate? is it as blatient as a name? lol

ps mate, wheres the homepage info? lol
just take some pics of the CDI, it will/should have OKI electronics Corporation written on the bottom of it black plastic box/case with a alloy base and top where the cables/loom/plugs come out with 2 pop rivets for the transistor heat sync, if your lucky someone may have pluged an M MAXX box, RickO Box, or HRC Box,

these NC30s always seem to suprise you in somewhy as i said 20year old bikes are all so different between

ok so im half way through my carbs, cleaning jets and swopping fresh gaskets and checking needles etc.

can some one tell me why my needles done match cammos guide ones? he states J51B and J51A needles.
mine are J1GB and J1GA .... does anyone else have these needles??

iv looked against rick o part list too and none match these either!? plus iv got J1GB needles in my REAR carbs where as cammo guide state its the J51A (A) needle goes into the rear carbs. i know this doesnt really matter coz my needles are diff but im a little lost here , any help?

spent half the night buggin rick o, hope he didnt mind, but some great info. UK carbs work in reverse to the jap ones! you run leaner on REAR carbs, as appose to the JAP FRONT carbs. odd ay! so standard uk jetting is 122f/120r .

also my emulsion jets have a funny hole configurment, again, appose to the jap ones which are the front tubes have 4 holes. the UK have 4 but another 1 offset,so 5! and the uk rear have 4 holes! also the holes are located differant to the jap ones.

jap front holes go

1234 in a line

uk front ones go

123 4
5

obviously imagine the numbers are holes and the spaces are gaps. the 5th hole on the uk carb is in-line with the 4th but round abit.

anyone else confirm all this?? or is this new to peeps!?

 sorry only jesting there's no such thing as far as I know

There different tho, may just be uk parts. I'm seem to remember the uk spec parts being different last time I stripped some down.
