Carb slide/needle mod's carbs out?

Post by oldgreyandslow » Tue Jul 19, 2011 1:19 pm

Having put my carb's back in, you may recall the difficulties I experienced over a few posts ;) it seems hesitant to pick up, now I'm not expecting the same initial response I got from my Hornet 600, however I would expect it to be a bit more responsive. So I was considering the extra washer under the needle and drilling the hole in the slide to 2.5mm mods as recommended in the Cammo guide.

However after all the fun I had getting the carbs back in I don't really fancy removing them again to try these mods's I was hoping to try one thing at a time, see how it effected the response etc, so I was hoping that it would be possible with the carb's in place?

Is there anything I need to look out for or is it a straightforward job? I had the slides out when the carbs were on the bench and checked the right needles were in the right places. but decided to put everything back as standard at the time.

Cheers

you can do the slides with the carbs on the bike.

I would, in all honesty, get a dyno run for £25 quid, get an A/F graph and go from there.

otherwise, you are pissing in the wind..and your stress levels and time spent ratio is going all to pot..

Stress isnt a good thing! trust me on that one, im going through alot at the mo, and the NC30 is on hold for obvious Reasons, hence why i havent been about as much the last fortnight.

thing is i find working on the NC the least stressfull thing in my life, and the one thing that doesnt make me stressed but as it stands with not being at home with my garage to work in i dont have that stress relief.

i hear sex is also good for stress relief :s

Sorry to hear that.

I have heard that sex is good for stress relief but not as a solo activity apparently, however as a team event it's almost unbeatable
