I would have thought that USD forks would mean the VJ22 model, VJ21 had RWU and VJ23 will probably be a bit expensive and hard to come by.

Hopefully it is VJ22, 'cos I still have a set of maxton modified forks in my garage...

yes the VJ22 was the 1st one with USD forks the older ones had the normal RWU forks.

and aye the vj23 forks are pretty hard 2 get if you wanted 2 spend a few quid on them get a set of SP ones but they are very hard 2 get for the rgv.

To my mind the RGV is a lighter bike and may have a lighter suspension set up to reflect that. It will be better than the standard 3TJ RR steup though. So that will bring us to the brakes which I guess will be marginal for road use, and I'd think you can get later Suzuki calipers to fit ... although yor probably better off spending on a radial master cyl first.

was thinking that my self with it only being a 250 its a fair bit lighter than the fzr400 so was thinking the forks would be a bit bouncy but im sure with new springs and different oil etc...you will get them fairly good.

and yes thers other suzuki calipers people put on them so if you wanted better calipers you could fit them but i find no problem with my calipers and dont really see the need 2 change them 2 the better ones.

If you want brakes.... I had a VJ22 with a GSXR750K4 radial master cylinder, HEL braided lines and 6 pot calipers from a Hyabusa. It stopped quite well.

If only I still had all the spares I've just sold, I wouldn't need much to do this conversion!

Ive got the rrsp forks on my bike. Work beautifully with the 600 motor without having to be resprung ect. When i first ran the bike i was using the standard 3tj forks which also worked well with no handling problems. I still have the standard forks if yours are shot

That would depend upon how much you want for them Tim!

Both of my seals have gone and it is going to cost me £40 plus time and effort to fix them...

Any spacers needed, or is the stem/bearings/spacing all exactly right?

Alex.
