Can you run a 13 size sprocket on the front of the NC30?

Had you ran a 13 front sprocket before?

The local Japanese mechanics said the chain will hit something (can't understand Japanese)

Thanks

Yeah I've run a 13 before, no issues at all.

Only potential issue is if you currently run standard gearing the chain might be too long and not enough adjustment to take the slack out. Maybe that's what the mechanic meant.

Can't remember at all. :?:

And obviously it will throw your speedo out...

What size rear did you run it with? I am thinking you would want a couple teeth more on the back otherwise perhaps the chain will run too heavily on the rubbing strip. Don't know about 30's but that was a problem on my T595.

What are you doing down in Zama?!

The 13t front will make it wheelie everywhere! :O

This might not be good for the road.. or track (it'll have no topend!)

They may have been talking about it hitting on the horizontal cross member of the frame with the rear fully underloaded, ie hard on brakes.

Mine has some wear there and it came with a 13t front spare, this is a guess.

I'm in the military, station in NAF Atsugi.

The bike is only for the track.

The bike has a -1 +3 now and the tire is all the way forward, I should be fine with the smaller front.

Thanks

I don't like the current gearing -1 +3, the local track is very small and I only use 2nd gear... on my RVF I regear it to -1 +3 and I was able to hit 3rd... Great gearing. Playing around with the gearing commander something similar to that is -2 +3 on the VFR. I'll give it a try.
