Nc30 mega soft front end (bottoming everywhere)

Post by Spike16 »

Hi been a while

Iv got my nc30 on the road again for commuting to work but having trouble with the front bottoming out on any kind of bumps while heavey braking, especially a couple of roundabout on the way to work near silverstone.

the setup is fairly stock, had new oil and seals about 2 years ago, got fireblade front brake setup and iv got quite a bit of experiance with these bikes but just fishing for tips to stiffen the front up, oil or a fork kit?

Does the kit do anything more clever than - for example - a set of springs from Hagonwould do?

ricks kit also includes new spacers and fluid ,level setting tool and clear instructions for the same price as the hagon springs alone. best pound for pound upgrade you can get imo. he also sells anti bottoming kits for the later forks also if you wish to make further improvement still. all the kit rick sells is well researched by the man who knows what works and what doesn,t on nc30s. :plus:

Try taking a look at your sag measurements, you should aim at 25-35mm with you onboard in your kit, 10mm or so less without you. If your sag is out the window, then change your springs. If not, does something about the damping, dive on the brakes is your lowspeed compression, so can be helped by thicker oil (and raise your oillevel/decrease airgap to give a bit more bottoming resistance at the end of stroke).

and if you need to fit new springs, then go with Ricks kit.

I got a good kit of Graeme France for my race bike last year that went inside the stock springs, wonder if this will do aswell?

Hi Spike16,

Everyone knows that the Nc30 is a brilliant bike - So you are probably looking for a fault in the bike that doesn't exist.
I think you need to take a tough look at your own riding skills and ask yourself who understands sports bikes better - The largest motorcycle producer in the world with hundreds upon hundreds of wins in every single class of racing,.....

Huh?

Welcome and it's a well known fact that the stock NC30 forks are too soft......
