Re: vfr 400z
It's not just that. They don't fetch anything as there part of the NC2x family. There a lot less desirable than the NC30, they feel like 80's Honda's, soft bouncy and springy. The NC30 feels like a mini-missile on rails.clearblu wrote:I'm glad to see other people have been seduced by 400z's looks :) plus the stupid low price as I've gathered unless you know the vfr family people on e-bay think it's been crashed and the fairings have been binned, used epoxy as a temperary measure on my tank (tiny leak) as I think I've managed to get hold of a nc24 tank and panels at a half decent price!
The NC21\NC24 don't fetch anything compared to the NC30/35's.
Theres the occasional dreamer and someone out to rob somebody but i'd never pay more than 500gbp for one.
clearblu wrote:Cheers Duncan, I thought the Maxton route would be the way to go. Air assists were a craze in the 80's with loads of Kwacks having them, A trip to Maxton is on the cards I think.
Do you run fully Synthetic oil? I dont want to open the can of worms on friction additives etc. I'm tempted too. What should I look at besides the usual reg/rect problems and would a gel battery upgrade be a benefit?
cheers
I can't remember if I replied to this part.. Gel battery not necessary or beneficial. Neither is the synth oil. Bike was designed for semi-synth, the fully synth will offer no benefits apart from lasting longer, just buy the standard oil and change it when your supposed to.

Cheers for the reply, just finished a to-do list. It's been used to commute with (less than 15 miles a day) The front forks are proper 80's tech which lets it down handling wise if you wan't to really go for it but it still can hold it's own on a b road, front end is top on the list followed by the hatefull gearing.
When funds allow after baby is born I will be looking for an NC30 with the intention of building a RC30 rep :)
