Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Its easy to tell i the tick over is too high on a standard bike as the revs will be slow to drop.

I like the set up you have there looks nice, very RC45 but as mine is for the CBR400 I wanted something a bit more retroid like the retro look for my 30. I want my 35 to be a mini RC45, ive got something very trick planned for the forks.
Ok I found my spare HRC temp gauge here's pics, as I said before for some reason it doesnt return to bottom. PM me if you want it.

Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
I gave this "brainstorming" a bit more thought and I reckon it would be fine to stop the needle at 3k, even though the revs would drop further.Drunkn Munky wrote:Just thinking out the box here but if we did would it be possible to get them to make the dials without the 1 and 2k markings and put a stop pin at the 3k mark then physically turn the tacho so the 3k mark is where the 1k mark is now? A bit blue peter but in my head at this stupidly early hour in the morning i think it'll work :)
As the mechanism is on a spring the drops in revs are more or less on a controlled fall, this should theoretically mean that it'll simply stop springing back completely; wether it'll cause any damage or not, I don't know!

If the 3k is to be moved to the 0 though, I think the needle will have to be positioned at the 6k so that when it drops to the stop, it'll be an accurate(ish) 3k; that's in theory anyway!

Had a little test run with my tacho today:

G'Day!
What do you call those handy centre stands you used during the rebuild?
I have googled the shit out of them and found nothing?

without going back through the thread I'm guessing DM was using an ABBA stand, bloody good bits of kit, makes changing wheels and forks a doddle
