HOW TO: Fit the RC30 brake linkage to an NC30.

Post by BillingCBR »

Hi all, hopefully as I get this fitted I'll remember to list any problems and will do a complete walkthrough as I go along.

Many of you will know that the NC30 has provision for the Pro Squat brake linkage fitted to the RC30, it just wasn't fitted to the NC (probably due to the extra cost)

So far the list of parts that you will NEED is;

4x 43433MR7000 (spacer collar) NLA €3 (RC45 part can be used apparently, part no. later)
1x 43435MR7000 Arm A. €34.50
2x 90107MR7000 flange bolt €3
4x 90122MCP900 socket bolt NLA but €8.50 if you can find them
1x 43430MR7000 link assy NLA €204.50
1x 43434MR7000 Arm B €45
1x 43436MR7000 shaft €58.50
2x 90655MR7000 washer €3.50
2x 91285MR7003 dust seal NLA €5 (20X31X5 may be available elsewhere)

so far I have this lot, and will be ordering from Honda at the end of the month, hopefully ready to fit straight on.

Nice one lad but £411.50 :o I could go to amsterdam with that and get shagged senseless all weekend

Im guessing you havent paid this much for it all tho. Get some pics up when you have all the parts, maybe subsitutes or having new ones machined may work out cheaper.

Well, I am considering having the main link (204.50) replicated if I can find somewhere that will do it cheap enough. May ask about the other bits aswell, as long as I stand to not lose anything :)

I'm waiting to hear from his Oliverness about any odd bits like seals and spacers, and how to mount it to the existing caliper hardware

I paid 206 delivered for what is in the piccies :)

I'll pop Kayla a pm then, I also have the measurements for the NLA spacers, so we won't have to use/modify RC45 ones.

As I said, I'm happy to let the bits be copied, I'll get the price from Kayla and see if we can work something out

Liz, simple answer, it helps prevent the rear wheel hopping under extreme braking by bracing the caliper against the frame rather than the swingarm.

Plus it looks pretty

If I do get them made up I won't be doing it to line my own pockets, I'd like to think I'm regarded on here as someone who isn't a money grabber

thats cool bill, i woudnt say youd be a money grabber though if you invested a bit of time and effort into getting these fabricated etc. im sure there d be plenty of lads ,including me who dont mind paying folk for their efforts. no shame in earning a few bucks alone the way. ;)

lol, as long as everyones happy, that's all that matters, could do with off setting the cost of the original bits tbh!

I've pm'd Kayla, just gotta sit back and wait for the reply, and I'll let you guys know the price if it can be done. Who's interested in one? I'm sure if 5 people want one that'll make it worthwhile, I'll get mine done and fitted before going ahead so I can put together a complete kit.
