Questions
I ran my NC30 on the track Saturday and it was fun, here is what I have:
Tires are 120/70 front 003 Type 3, with a 090 rear, front is drop 8mm, preload full hard, gearing is -1 +3 (14 in the front, 43 rear) I installed a quick throttle (great mod!!! less stress on my wrist) It has adjustable pegs, clip ons, and stainless steel brakes lines.
I need suspension, read lots of threads about it, but still not sure what's the cheapest way to go. I'm 90kgs and the suspension is way too soft.
I don't like the gearing, the local track is very small and I was only using 2nd gear... on my RVF I regear it to -1 +3 and I was able to hit 3rd... Great gearing. Playing around with the gearing commander something similar to that is -2 +3 on the VFR. I know 13 is very small on the front and I may have problems with the chain hitting something.
Is anybody running a 13 front sprocket? I would like to have a 13 F 43 R
I can also keep the 14 and get a 46 R, but I'll have to buy a new chain $$$.
The bike needs to lose some serious weight; she weights almost the same than my 08 CBR600RR with half of the power
I already strip off the lights, mirrors and side stand. The bike is only for the track, what else can I strip off? I may run the bike without fairings, they are heavy.
I need a new air filter, an aftermarket exhaust, and rejetting, no sure how to work with carbs, but I read the DIY on the V4 - Workshop, and I may venture on that task... The bike has no power until I hit about 11rpms, the bike that is taking video is a CBR250RR and it was hard to walk away on the straight.
Here is the video:

Re: Questions
A well sorted CBR250rr is going to be making 45+ hp and weighs less than the NC30... it's going to be difficult to shake one..
Theres a good video on youtube of a fireblade and 250rr in a street race through some mountain roads and the cbr is tailing the fireblade on all but the straights of the road (when the fireblade disappears!)
If it's a track bike.
Loose everything, lights, indicators, charging system.
How much do you have to spend... alter the gearing for top end, get a light-weight race battery and loose the charging system and cut away as much loom as possible.
gsxr1000 flywheel.
magnesium wheels...
could spend lots!

Re: Questions
I don't want to spend much money on the NC30, her diet is only on stuff that I can strip off, I may get this battery but that's about it:

I bought it for the RVF when I changed the rear shock for a CBR600RR shock, and it had plenty of juice.
What do you mean by loosing the charging system?
A CBR250RR is on my shooping list
we had one for an endurace race and it was a lot of fun. I had better times on it than the RVF or the VFR.
