You need a spring compressor. Once you compress it enough, the bottom of the shock comes apart in two pieces.

Anyone know where I can get a 850lb cbr600rr6 spring to fit my shock?
I bought a Faulkner one thinking it'd be a standard spring but the cbr one is tapered down to like 2 inch at the bottom but only noticed when taking it off. My spring is like a dick in a shirt sleeve.

Re: Fitting a CBR600 rear shock to an NC30
Rang around a bit and couldn't find a non STD tapered spring so I'm fitting my 2.25 ID 800lb spring with a nice ally collar I've had machined up. New 7inch 800lb spring cost 30 quid from faulkner and my dads mate knocked the ring up for peanuts.
Will post more pics when I'm doing it. Also fitted uprated thinner r6 battery.

Spring is 7mm shorter than standard so o had the ring machined 7 mm thick
also has a step to seat the spring

Theres no reason for it not to work :) there's a link on this thread somewhere about some guy who did the same thing, doesn't look as beefy as my collar though. Can always ask the bloke if he will make another.force-v4 wrote:Oooooo, let me know how you get on with the collar, if it works, i'll be interested in getting 1 - do you think you could get me 1 made up?
