NC35 restoration, any tips ?
Hi all, i'm a new member here and have had my 1994 rvf 400 NC35 for the last 2 years and it was my first bike. i bought it with about 7000 kilometers and have had a lot of fun on it but it sat doing very little in a damp garage for the first lot of years of its life and some parts are a bit corroded. I have decided to strip it down and bring the bike back to life and make it like new again !! i was just wondering if anyone had any useful tips or advise on doing this or anything i mite want to modify about it ? oh, and i've taken some pictures as i've been stripping it down so intend to upload them at some point

Know a good powder coater! and dont bother setting a budget, as i have just found out im well over mine already it adds up fast and theres always another bit you didnt plan to do!
Its a as hard as you make it, how far you planning on going with it? suspension refurb?
There are far better people on here that are more in the know than me that will help along the way, keep us uptodate with your progress! and wlecome to the forum!

If you feel confident enough get the engine out and strip the frame bare, take pictures of everything as you do it so you know how it all goes back, cable routes, wiring etc. There simple beasts really these V4's
Buy a parts washer and clean everyting then brackets, suframes etc off to powder coaters, spindles, bolts and brackets can also be zinc coated it you prefer. you could also zinc coat the the rear hub as you wanna strip that out anyway.
Rebuild the forks and throw away the rear shock, plenty off replacement options out there, carbs will also benefit from strip and clean

Dont laugh, believe it or not but I found the exact Ral colour for my NC29 type 2 1992 at Halfords own mix , Granite blue and its spot on match , bit steep for a spray can 12 to 13 quid but nice spray nozzle

RVF restoration, tips please
Cheers guys, I've stripped it rite down to the bare frame and taken some photos as I've done it. I know a good powder coated as av already had my wheels done a few months ago. I made a de-greaser tray and have started de greasing the swing arm etc. What do you recommend I replace the standard suspension with ?

Ohlins, WP, Nitron, Maxton, Penske, Technoflex, Hyperpro, Wilbers, Elka, Hagon, YSS and more.
