Carb overhaul - what are these tubes?
Just started to follow the guide by Cammo and turned the carbs to drain the float bowls and perhaps I turned then too far as fuel came pissing out of these tubes

What are they?
No doubt the first of a few more novice questions, sorry in advance

Dont know but thats where fuel pisses out if you dont drain them before turning them upside down

Much easier to use the drain screw on the float bowls than spill fuel everywhere

You're right!Drunkn Munky wrote:Much easier to use the drain screw on the float bowls than spill fuel everywhere

Float heights will be checked too
Just while I'm waiting on the postie with new needles etc I thought I'd see what the idle jet screws were set at, and they were all wound out by more than 3 turns compared to Cammo's recommended 2 and a quarter. Wonder what effect that would have.

most people assume one turn is 180degrees with the slot one rotation, when it is actually half a turn

I'm not getting confused with half turns, at least I'm pretty sureI'm not, a full turn is 360 degrees, so I actually found they were turned out by 1080 degrees, actually it was about 1125. This was waht it took to wind them fully in.

Cheers
I was right then, so it took 3 and 1//8 th turns or thereabouts to wind the pilot screws fully in.
Not sure how that would effect running, however I have new main jets and pilot jets on order from Rick O and will wind the pilot screws out the two and a quarter turns recommeneded in Cammo's guide.
