95-105 the fan will cut in if your fan switch is working properly. that is high up the gauge...

The fan 'sucks' air through the radiator, it doesn't blow it.

And if you don't have clear fins (ie cant see through the rad) The fan is pretty much useless as it can't shift air through the rad.

When you have a decent radiator always remember to hose any crap off it asap before it drys and gets 100x harder to clean :)

guess i should start looking for a new temp switch then.....or......If i took a signal from the temp sensor in the thermostat i could get the fans to cut in at any temp i wanted but do you think it is in completly the wrong location or would it be ok to use.........

Wrong position, if you're worried about it then just fit an override.

The switch is fairly easily tested although you need to remove it which means a full coolent change (you may get away with a top-up if you block the hole quickly).

If your having temp problems a coolant change / rad & engine flush might not be a bad idea.

as druid said, switch is a doddle to check, plus it beats spending £30 on a new one.

Coolant change and flush was done with the radiator cleaning its just the fans dont cut in untill very high up the temp gauge. Im hesitant to buy a new switch because of the price and im not completly sure its faulty as it works but higher up the temp gauge than i want. What temp are the fans cutting in on your bikes?
