3HE headers on a 4JH?
Hello, sorry, I know, it's probably been asked a million times before but I can't find a definitive anwer. I've got a 3HE with a mint* Micron stainless race system on it (2.5" link and it sounds f-ing ferocious
) - does anyone know if 3HE pipes will fit on a 4JH before I disturb the gaskets on the 3HE and on my bike? I am coveting the stainless, held-together-with-springs race goodness

I'll probably have a go at it tomorrow and be able to say for definite, but it'd be nice to know in advance before my hopes are cruelly dashed!
* that's 'mint' as in 'very good condition', not 'mint' as in 'belter hew'

Well, when the 3TJ and 1WG are swaped they burn the bodywork ... how bad can it be

Re: 3HE headers on a 4JH?
Ok, the 3HE headers (Micron) fit on the 4JH engine ok but the collector/link exits too low and makes it look like an XJ650
I could get a new link made up but then I'd be left without an exhaust for the 3HE because although the 4JH headers fit in the exhaust ports, they won't seat fully because the collector/link fouls on the frame. Aaaargh!
I think I'd best leave well alone
