How do I adjust the chain on a NC24?
Hi :)
I am new to this forum, so bear with me if this question has been asked and answered ten times before. I tried to search for a solution on the board, but did not find any.
I am currently restoring two NC24´s to working condition, they have both been sitting still for years before I got my hands on them. I have gotten so far as to changing the chain and sprockets, but can not figure out how to adjust the chain.
As far as I can see, the chain adjustment is not the same as on the NC30 although both bikes are fitted with the proarm swingarm.

Re: How do I adjust the chain on a NC24?
Adjustment is exactly the same except there are two bolts to slacken off instead of one.
You then turn the adjuster and it moves the hub in / out. (same big c-shaped spanner) or you can use a screwdriver.

Re: How do I adjust the chain on a NC24?
Thank you for your reply - I solved myself, though:)
I pulled the entire thing apart. Should have done that from the beginning. The adjuster was stuck, and needed a bit coaxing from a rubber mullet, but now it is clean and unstuck!
It is not exactly the same as on the NC30 though. The ring for the c-spanner only has 2 teeth which makes it hard to spot - and it is located on the other side of the swingarm, right next the disc brake.

Re: How do I adjust the chain on a NC24?
I stand corrected.
First - It was a rubber mallet, not a rubber mullet that was used to loosen the adjuster...
Second - The "ring with two teeth" I was referring to, is a snap ring. My confusion arose from looking at the pictures in the NC30 workshop manual (page 13-4), which shows the adjuster having teeth. I thought they were for the c-spanner, but I finally get it now :)

Ah cool :)
Well as long as it's done!
Remember to adjust the chain to the required slack with somone on the bike, otherwise it'll probably be too tight when somone sits on it.
