Post by gooner84 »

Hi, does anybody use an M-Max derestriction box on there NC30, Mine is a grey import, its not restricted as it does near 130mph, it does have a flat spot though around 6000 revs which i would like to get rid of, maybe this box will help? im also looking at derestricted cdi units as well, any adivice would be muchly appreciated! im also having problems getting the radiator fan to work as well. M-Max box only removes 112mph limit.

The CDI on ebay will blow your bike up....so avoid!

6k revs flat spot..well...some have it, some don't. Your best bet is to get it back to standard settings and go from there.

Rad fan - they are simple..earth the fan,see if it works, if not, then the temp sender is duff.

Thank you, are you on about the CDI's from Hong Kong? there are Hrc ones as well but even second hand they are over £100 so dont want to waste my money if it wont change anything. I will try earthing the fan, i have changed the whole rad lately with a different fan and switch on it but still fails to work.

Aye, CDI from Hong Kong. You cannot get an HRC CDI for the NC30 unless you found it on a piggy airways flight stashed in the corner with Lord Lucan, Shergar and a large pile of Hen's Teeth.

Avoid the HRC SP box - it is not going to do anything but cost you money.

Sounds like the sender itself is ont triggering the fan then...sure there is a test for it in the Haynes book of Lies
