NC35 Carbs

[RSVR]

Want to understand the modifications between NC30 & NC35 Carbs.
For example needles raised 0.5mm, drilled slides etc etc, NC35 HRC jet kit .

Doesn’t seem to be much info on NC35 carbs specifically, and so was wondering do the slides still need to be drilled.

I’m on a RVF 35 knowledge mission at the moment.

Hi, I am no carb pro but I asked a similar question. You can't drill the sliders on the rvf carbs. If you have a performance can they recommend 110 main jets all round and hrc slider springs but that's it.

I did try teh extra 0.5mm washer under the needles but it made it too rich, so i woudl just stick with what domski said

I have both set of crabs and have produced my own open air box using the tank to seal it. I've been looking at both carb set to go with the air box. Think i will stick with the 35's for now as see how we go on the dyno.

Shame so little info on the RVF.

If you are running no airbox, you may need to vent the float bowls and use some pretty big jets and different needles.

No need to drill the slides, as has been said.

There's plenty of info on the forum regarding rvf carbs, it's just in many different threads at the moment. They're a later generation of design compared to the nc21/24/30 carbs, many changes were made.

I believe CRM is going to try and consolidate some of the rvf carb info so it's easier to access in the future.

My current RVF carbs are feed by the modified HRC fuel tap
The NC30 carbs, will be feed with a CBR600 fuel pump, and current have 140's mains

Skinny D, I'm interested to understand why float bowls may need to be vented?

I going to try the RVF carbs with 140 mains with the fuel pump set up. The only reason for the 30 carbs was due to the larger throat size.

I will up load at some point a few pics of my airbox etc.

I am no carb expert, but i think it to keep the air pressure in the float bowls the same as that at the intake stacks. it is more of an issue when you have ram air, but i think it is something you may need to do when running no air box too.

not really applicable in your case RSVR, i was going to base this on road going bikes more than track and open airbox setups.
however if you keep notes of the effect these changes make, am sure it will help many in the future.
all data will be stored in one place and i can try and clean up and get rid of those "carb setup help" kinda posts.

I will record all my findings via dyno runs etc at each stage as this will provide a good base of info.

I'm currently refreshing the motor, and rebuilding the other, Will add to this thread once it hit dyno.
